Sell your pre-loved Mac safely and conveniently with eXpressMac. We offer fair, market-related purchase prices for well-kept Apple computers. Please note that we currently only purchase Macs with Apple Silicon chips, including M1, M2, M3, M4 and newer models.

For local sellers, we offer scheduled in-person appointments in Durbanville, Cape Town Northern Suburbs. Alternatively, sellers may choose to send their device via PostNet counter-to-counter from their nearest PostNet branch to ours. Devices only need to be sent via PostNet once we have reviewed the details provided and agreed on a subject-to-inspection purchase price. PostNet offers domestic PostNet-to-PostNet courier services and parcel tracking.

All devices are subject to inspection and verification. eXpressMac reserves the right to decline the purchase of any device at its sole discretion.

We do not accept stolen, counterfeit, iCloud-locked, MDM-enrolled, ITC-listed or blacklisted devices. Any device found to be stolen or unlawfully supplied may be reported to the relevant authorities, and the seller may be held liable for any related costs incurred.

How it works

Submit the details of your Mac

Tell us about the Mac you wish to sell and select the correct specs, and upload a couple of photos to our easy to use platform. Upon receipt, we will contact you with an offer.
Complete form

Accept Offer

Once you’re happy with our subject-to-inspection offer, we’ll guide you through the handover process, either by appointment in Durbanville or via PostNet counter-to-counter. After your Mac has been received, inspected and approved, we’ll request your banking details, ID and proof of address so we can complete the final checks and arrange speedy payment.

Get Paid

Once your Mac has been received, inspected and tested, we’ll confirm that it matches the details provided and is not linked to iCloud or protected by a firmware lock. Once approved, we’ll pay you by EFT within the same business day. If we have any questions, we’ll contact you directly.

There’s an easy way to identify exactly which Mac or MacBook you have

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your Mac.
  2. This will bring up a drop-down menu. Pick the top option: About This Mac.
  3. The resulting window provides full details about what type of Mac it is, e.g. iMac (24-inch, 2020)
  1. Click on the Apple Menu in the upper-left corner of your screen
  2. For newer mac’s, click About This Mac and serial will be listed on the inital window
  3. If not listed there, click the System Report button
  4. Under Hardware Overview, locate the Serial Number (system)

Here’s how to find the model number of your Mac, you can find this by following these instructions:

  1. Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your Mac.
  2. This will bring up a drop-down menu. Pick the top option: About This Mac.
  3. Click on System Report (or on Macs running older operating systems, click on More Information).
  4. In the Hardware Overview you will see the Model Identifier.

Tell Us About Your Device

Before selling your used Apple device, you must give us some information about yourself and your product.

Please note:

  • We currently only purchase MacBook and iMac computers newer than 2020 year model. 
  • We do not purchase devices that are locked, iCloud locked, under Device Management Software supervision, part of Apple’s DEP program, or have been reported stolen.
  • It will be the seller’s responsibility to pay for return shipping in the event the device cannot be unlocked and needs to be returned.
  • All data will be 100% wiped as all systems will be restored to original factory settings.
  • Stolen devices will be reported to SAPS along with your details and the device.
