  A practical choice for office apps, video calls, browsing and light photo editing. The 256GB SSD makes sense if most of your files live in the cloud or on an external drive. Memory bandwidth is 153 GB/s.
• 16GB unified memory / 512GB SSD · For more files on your Mac
  Keep the same 16GB of unified memory and double the built-in storage of the 256GB model. Choose this version if you want more space for apps, photo libraries and current projects without relying on an external drive day to day. Memory bandwidth is 153 GB/s.
• 24GB unified memory / 512GB SSD · For heavier multitasking and creative work
  With 24GB of unified memory, you have more headroom for layered edits, large design files or a development environment alongside your everyday apps. The 512GB SSD gives you room to keep active projects on the Mac. Memory bandwidth is 170 GB/s.

Apple M6 performance for work and creative projects

The 12-core CPU handles everything from spreadsheets and video calls to code builds. The 12-core GPU adds hardware ray tracing and Neural Accelerators for compatible graphics and AI workflows. Two 16-core Neural Engines support on-device machine learning, and a dedicated media engine accelerates H.264, HEVC, ProRes and ProRes RAW workflows, with AV1 decoding for playback.

Build a workspace with up to three displays

Keep your timeline, preview and reference material on separate screens, or set up a high-resolution main display for detailed editing. Choose the setup that fits your desk and how you work.

• Three-display setup. Two displays can run at up to 6K at 60Hz each, with a third at up to 5K at 60Hz via Thunderbolt or 4K at 60Hz via HDMI.
• High-resolution or high-refresh setup. With up to two displays connected, the main display can reach 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz. The second display is supported at up to 5K at 60Hz via Thunderbolt or 4K at 60Hz via HDMI.

Ports and networking for a permanent desk setup

• Rear. Three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports at up to 40Gb/s, plus HDMI and 2.5Gb Ethernet. Connect compatible docks, external SSDs and displays, or use wired networking to move files to a compatible NAS.
• Front. Two USB-C ports at up to 10Gb/s and a 3.5mm headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones. Plug in a portable drive or headphones without reaching around the back.
• Wireless. Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread support.

A compact desktop that fits around your gear

The silver aluminium enclosure measures 12.7 × 12.7 × 5 cm and weighs approximately 670 g. A built-in speaker handles everyday audio, and you can pair the Mac mini with the monitor, keyboard and mouse you prefer.

What changes from the Mac mini M4

The M6 brings two additional CPU cores and two additional GPU cores compared with the Mac mini M4. It also adds Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and standard 2.5Gb Ethernet. If you already have a desk setup you like, these upgrades give you a way to refresh the Mac at the centre of it.
